Dear Filey Folk Festival - A short film by Bari Razzaki here
Welcome to Filey Folk Festival
Filey Folk Festival is one of the mainstays of this North Yorkshire seaside town's musical year. Expect a broad range in styles of folk, blues, country and acoustic performers and bands, and a very warm welcome and a famously friendly atmosphere. You can catch well over 100 acts performing live at the participating venues and perhaps also busking around town. Pub/Café/Restaurant & Guitar Shop gigs run all weekend and admission is FREE for everyone.
There are also pay on the door/ticketed evening concerts at the EVRON CENTRE CONCERT HALL, plus the unique listening atmosphere of daytime and evening shows at the MASONIC HALL. Prices are fairly nominal and vary anything from £3 for daytime shows to £10 for evening concerts.
An Extra Day Added To The Festival !
Due to growing popularity of the folk festival, bank holiday Monday will now be the official 'survivors' day with a special finale concert to be held at the Evron Centre Concert Hall in 2017. This year it features STEVE PHILLIPS & THE ROUGH DIAMONDS.
This web space will provide updates and programme announcements as we head towards the 2017 festival. Simply click on the links to the venues on the left of each page to see the schedule for that venue.
Applications To Perform At The Festival
Its simple ! Just click on a venue you want to play at in the left hand column, and on the venue page you will find a contact name & email address or phone number of the STAGE ORGANISER. Generally, bookings don't usually start until end of October time at the earliest.

We are delighted to welcome the superb singer songwriter guitarist Nick Harper to headline Loudhailer Seaside Special at Filey Folk Festival 2017. If you’ve seen Nick before you’ll know that he is an amazing performer – a breathtakingly passionate singer songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire. He’s full of terrific stories, and fabulously entertaining. If you’ve never seen Nick before you are in for a treat for sure.
"Nick Harper is a force of nature… the sheer weight of ideas in his music makes him irresistible and unstoppable... Harper the performer is a fearsome weapon.” Southern Reporter.
"One of the finest guitarists of his generation, his soaring vocal range and propensity for epic song place him somewhere between Rufus Wainright and Jeff Buckley. “Mojo.
"If you've never seen Nick live, you're missing out on one of the musical phenomenon of our age." Glasgow Herald
Support is from Loudhailer Electric Company (unplugged) - an acoustic set from the band - original psychedelic sounds featuring members of seminal cult bands Dead Fingers Talk, Red Guitars, Nazca Nine and The Planet Wilson. “Cutting edge, psychedelic folk music of the highest quality.” Alan Raw, with Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.
